5 Mindblowing Facts About Titanic Which Prove Why It Is The Greatest Film Ever

Titanic is a 1997 American epic romantic disaster film directed, written, co-produced, and co-edited by James Cameron. A fictionalized account of the sinking of the RMS Titanic, it stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as members of different social classes who fall in love aboard the ship during its ill-fated maiden voyage.

1) Work first, health later!
Remember the iconic climax scene, where both Jack and Rose are in the sea? Kate Winslet refused to wear a wetsuit, for authenticity, and ended up falling sick with pneumonia! That’s what you get for letting Leo die!
2) Pet on the Set
Leonardo Di Caprio, who plays Jack in the epic, had a really unusual pet on the sets of the film: a Lizard! Once, a truck ran over it nearly killing it. But Leo nursed it back to good health! Isn’t he just perfect?

3) Leo wasn’t the first choice!
The production studio wanted Matthew McConaughey to play Jack. But James Cameron insisted that Leonardo be given the role, and as we know, the rest is an Oscar winning history
4) James Cameron sketched Kate Winslet!
The sketches that Jack makes in the film were actually made by the Director himself! The hands shown sketching in the movie were not Leo’s but James Cameron’s! You truly did ‘Paint her like one of your French girls’, James!
5) Kate wasn’t the first choice either
James Cameron considered a lot of actresses like Nicole Kidman, Cameron Diaz and Sharon Stone for the role of Rose. But the character wouldn’t have ‘bloomed’ as well with anyone other than Kate herself!
